Thanksgiving
Hey y'all.
This month, we began our series on Thanksgiving and we’ve had 2 posts this month. Last week we had our 2 part post talking about how we show gratitude and when we should be thankful. Today I want to express all the things I am grateful to God for.
I want to start off by saying that 2024 has been the hardest year we’ve had in a while. From my husband losing his job in April to having to move out of our apartment last month, it’s been a doozie. In the midst of our chaos, we’ve seen God’s hand protecting us. Because of this, I thank God. The Lord has not left our side and has seen our tears. He has done things in our lives that have seemed scary at times but I know He has a plan. Nothing I’m struggling with today has caught Him off guard and as much as I want to scream and cry in my humanity, God’s Spirit has been with me.
I know things may not look the way I expected them to and I know that This may not sound too encouraging, but I am thankful that He has a plan for me (Jeremiah 29:11). I may be sad at the circumstances that surrounded, but my focus is on the expectation of the miracle that is headed my way.
I am thankful for the Lord’s sacrifice on the cross. His sacrifice has allowed me to be counted as one of members of his body, a part of His bride, the church. I am thankful for His daily renewed mercies upon my life. I am thankful that a perfect God loves an imperfect me. I am thankful for the love he’s shown me by giving me the opportunity to be able to mother my daughter and to have my husband in my life. I am thankful to God for the wonderful church family He placed in my life, especially my pastors. I am thankful for my amazing friends and my beautiful family.
I am thankful for every situation He has used to teach me and bring me closer to Himself. I am thankful for the hurt I’ve had to endure because I know He’s been there with me through it all. I know God has never abandoned me, has never forsaken me, He’s sent His Spirit to be our comfort in troubled times. I am thankful for each of you who is reading this because that shows the grace God has extended to each of us. I am thankful for every single time I have stayed awake contemplating the profundity of the Lord. I am thankful to God that my husband’s work injury last year wasn’t worse. I am thankful that He is the center of my home, and the owner of my life and business venture. Thank you Lord for rescuing me from the miry clay and setting my feet on the rock that is Christ.
Thank you, Father God for seeking me out when I was lost. I praise God because when I thought I was worthless, He showed me that He values my life. I am thankful that I can understand that He has a purpose with each and every single one of us and that God keeps his promises.
I want to know what you’re thankful for. Please flood my comment section with gratitude so that we can remind each other of God’s love, His provision, and His protection in our lives.
Also, I want to take this time to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, that you, your friends, and your families are blessed by the Lord and that you remember that you are loved. Don’t forget to pray for those who are struggling with sadness during the holidays and for those who don’t have. I encourage you to pray for your communities, cities, states, and country for the coming year so the will of God may be done. I love you all!
