Now Faith Is...

Hey y'all.

It has been a busy week here at Crits and Crafts. Many things are changing on our page but also in our lives as well. Things that the enemy has meant for evil; to distract us and to try and make us stray from the truth that is the WORD of God. We have seen the way our egos have tried to reign king in our hearts as opposed to letting God be the King. Who is King in our hearts? Where is our faith being placed? In order to answer that ourselves, we decided to take a look at the biblical definition of faith found in Hebrews 11:1. This passage of scripture shows us that faith, though it can’t be seen, it is certain. We must believe that “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31b NKJV). Matthew 17:14-20 tells the story of a man who brought his son before Jesus and kneeling before Him (Jesus) the man pleaded for The Lord to have mercy and heal the boy from seizures that made the boy fall into fire at times and other times to fall into water. The man tells of how he brought the boy before the disciples and the men were unable to heal the boy. Jesus called them a faithless and twisted

generation and, casting out the demon that was in him, the boy was healed immediately. After this occurred, the disciples went to ask The Lord why could they not cast out the demon. Matthew 17:20 ESV:

“Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. ”

Most of us know this story, but we tend to stop after the mountain moving part. We always tend to leave out the part that Jesus tells us that nothing shall be impossible for us , but certain conditions must be met.

First, we have to have faith, a real and steadfast conviction of the things we hope for. Second, we have to ask God to grow our faith. James 1:6 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.” And lastly, trust in the Lord with your whole heart. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him And he shall direct your paths.” When we trust God and place Him first, our prayers are answered. This week I challenge you to try trusting the Lord.

Love always,
Your sister in Christ,
Michelle Torres
