Do Not Despair

Hey y'all.

Sorry for the late post, between moving and other responsibilities, I had to take time away from the blog. To make it up to you all, I will post twice this week. Today i want to encourage you in your prayer and relationship with God. We know that in the journey of life, challenges are inevitable. Psalm 34:19 reminds us of this reality: "The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all." Here, David acknowledges that even those who follow God will face trials. But the heart of this verse is in its assurance—God is with us through every struggle and promises deliverance.

This truth encourages us to lean on God daily. Prayer to and worshiping God aren’t only for times of crisis; they are essential to our everyday walk. They are what keeps our hearts in a posture of humility before the Lord. Prayer and Worship is how we fight the attacks of the enemy. Below, you will find a few of the many other reasons why embracing a habit of daily prayer and seeking God is so vital:

  1. Prayer Reminds Us of God's Faithfulness

Life can often make us feel overwhelmed or weary. But when we pray daily, we invite God’s presence into every part of our lives. Prayer isn’t just about speaking our needs but also about recalling who God is. Through prayer, we remember how He has faithfully carried us in the past, which renews our confidence in His power to guide us through today and tomorrow.

  1. Daily Connection Deepens Our Faith

Each moment we spend with God, our faith deepens. We build a foundation that prepares us to stand strong when troubles arise. By reading His Word, reflecting on verses like Psalm 34:19, and quieting our minds in His presence, we root ourselves in truth. This daily grounding helps us see that even in difficulty, God is working for our good.

  1. Seeking God Every Day Builds Resilience

Daily time with God builds a spiritual resilience that transforms how we handle struggles. As we seek Him, we begin to view challenges not as obstacles but as opportunities for growth. The more we lean on Him, the stronger we become—not by our own might, but through His strength working within us.

  1. God’s Deliverance Comes in His Perfect Timing

Psalm 34:19 assures us of God’s deliverance, but it doesn’t promise that trials will instantly disappear. His timing and methods are perfect, even if we don’t always understand them. Daily prayer reminds us that while we may not control our circumstances, we can trust in a God who does.

Are you new to the faith and are struggling to pray alone? Ask a friend that is a believer to help you and teach you how to pray! Remember, we are not alone on this journey. We go to church to grow as a body, but also to fellowship and to connect with other likeminded people. This body of believers is there to help us grow as well. Here is a list of other ways that can help to be consistent in prayer:

**Practical Ways to Seek God Every Day**

- 1 Set a specific time for prayer – Whether morning or evening, having a set time helps you create a lasting habit.

- 2 Journal your prayers and praises – Writing down your prayers and God’s answers helps you remember His faithfulness over time.

- 3 Memorize verses like Psalm 34:19 – In moments of trouble, God’s Word becomes a powerful reminder of His promises.

- 4 Pray throughout your day – Speak to God in small moments: during a commute, a break, or even as you go about your tasks.

Remember, we are not perfect and we will slip up, that doesn’t mean that your journey is done. God is merciful and loving and wants us to come to him in the moments where we feel weakest and when we feel our worst too. He wants to be your savior in all the ways. Even when the one causing us hurt is ourselves, God wants to be the balm that soothes your wounds. Let the Lord in, let Him begin to heal your hurt, let God heal your own self image. Once you allow God in, 100% in, He can begin to restore you to what He has called you to be.

Let us begin today. Today, let’s draw closer to God in prayer. Let's seek Him, trust Him, and invite Him to be our guide through every high and low. His promise of deliverance is true, and as we stay connected to Him daily, we’ll find the peace, strength, and joy that only He can provide. Don’t forget that you can always go to Him and be heard. God wants you to seek him with your whole heart. God wants you to feel comfortable enough to call him Abba, Father and pour out your heart to him. God will not shut you out, God desires intimacy with us, through prayer and worship.

Love always,
Your sister in Christ,
Michelle Torres
